This body of work explores the difference between ontological and phenomenological reality. My work combines photography, animation, and sculpture, using the egg to create “the question of purpose.” The result is meant to be transformative and meditative, offering a sense of wonder and curiosity about our set ways of seeing things. What is known and unknown about the world around us. Futurism is sometimes called a "science" bent on anticipating what will come. Through this work, I aim to bring the viewer to explore unknowns.
Rosemary Dai Ross works with mixed media, photography, animation, sculpture, and installation.
Rosemary’s work is always strikingly unique through her captures of raw eggs and their relationship with feminism and gender constructs. As an artist, her work is produced with the utmost quality that helps to provide the viewer with an awe-inspiring glimpse into her projects. Rosemary creates a curiosity through the seemingly cosmic nature of her recent photography projects, and I am always invested in what path she will take next in her work. — Jordan Bayley
Rosemary is a powerhouse of an artist and human. Her work is confrontational and provocative, forcing the viewers to deconstruct their preconceived ideas of gender, feminism, their core beliefs, and the world around them. Rosemary’s work is alluring in its striking beauty, and once you are pulled in, you are confronted with the invitation to “question, examine, and hold a sense of curiosity about [yourself] and the world around us,” (Rosemary). Dai Ross’ work brings comfort amidst calamity.
